Moko Inc has teamed up with Canterbury Clothing to produce the new Heritage Jersey and Shorts for the 2010 NRL Season. Moko Inc will be selling these items through our Studio and eventually on our merchandise website www.mokoinc.co.nz, along with various other Moko Inc inspired clothing and products. If you want to purchase one of the limited edition league jerseys or shorts, the retail price is $180.00 + p.p. and you can email your purchase request through this website. Long standing member of Moko Ink Calen is back working alternate months at the blissful and peaceful underground Moko Ink tattoo studio. Mid next year he is planning on visiting Europe in the summer and creating art with Jacqueline in Switzerland, Jeroen Franken in the Netherlands and Heidi Hay in Sweden. NEW ART STUDIO TO GO AHEAD… AT LAST!

We have finally received Planning Approval for our new purpose-built Art Studio, 35 mins west of Auckland City.

Great news …. Calen Paris (Maiava) is back regularly at Moko Ink and his work is looking amazing - as usual!

As the permanent building is a huge undertaking, it means all appointments over this time have to be well organised and people need to give us as much time to plan ahead as they possibly can. We would also appreciate if people could provide us as much information as possible.

We here at Moko Ink are extremely aware of the lifetime commitment that Tatau-Ta Moko is for all concerned, the giver and the receiver, and therefore, the most important thing for us over the next 6 months is to maintain the quality and integrity to the level this Studio has always aspired.

If somebody is in a hurry for a piece of permanent body art, then we may not be the best place for them, but if someone is willing to give it the same amount of time, patience and priority we do, then all things are possible.

After 6 months in our new underground, appointment only, studio in the middle of nowhere, half an hour away from Auckland, we are pleased to report that all aspects have been nothing but successful…People having their Ta Moko really appreciate the beautiful and private setting that has been created to do this work, and Inia is able to extend his artistic approach without any interruptions…..

The only thing to note is that we are still booking quite aways in advance and that receiving a map once you have a confirmed appointment is the only way you will be able to find us…. so please get in touch.

When inquiring about bookings and consultations, be patient as this large work doesn’t happen over night…… and because we only have 2 hands and 1 brain there is a limit to what can be designed and achieved, so therefore we are often booked quite a way in advance………

The most important thing to us is that the kaupapa and quality of what we do is maintained.

If there is apprehension about the time frame it may take to obtain the piece that you’d like, just bare in mind how long you haven’t had this piece and how long it will be around for….. It’s not so much a reflection of how we value you (and we do) its how you value yourself!….

After over 10 years of leading the charge of Ta Moko here in Grey Lynn, Auckland City, the studio here is in total need of renovation ….. So in time for the New Year, to ease negotiation with the Evil Landlord, we have decided to relocate whilst the vital structural repairs are made. Its falling down, but as long as she gets paid $ she won’t do nothing!!!! AND a recent rent increase attempt has reinforced the point…

We will attempt to keep the same phone number but will definately be contactable on mokoink@mokoink.com for future appointments..

We’re hoping to have relocated by the start of the New Year, but will keep you all posted…
